Arriving by plane
Finnair operates flights from Helsinki to Ivalo (IVL). Ivalo Airport is approximately 35 km from Saariselkä. You can reach our cabins by airport bus, taxi or rental car. We also offer our own transfer service with an eight-seater minivan. Please contact us in advance for availability and pricing.

Taxi or rental car
As an indicative estimate, a taxi from Ivalo Airport costs around €70–90 one way. Confirm the fare and availability before travelling. Taksi Saariselkä →
You can also hire a car from providers such as Hertz, Avis or Sixt. Book well in advance, especially during peak season.

Airport bus to the cabins
Eskelinen operates an airport bus between Ivalo Airport and Saariselkä, timed to flight schedules. Check the current monthly timetable for your flight connection. No advance seat reservation is required, and tickets can be paid for on board by cash or card. Groups should notify the operator in advance.
Ask the driver to stop near Suopunkitie 3 in Etelärinne. There is a walk of approximately 50–100 metres from the drop-off point to the cabins.
According to the November 2026 fare list, an adult ticket to Saariselkä costs €15 per person, one way. Check current fares and the timetable for your journey on Eskelinen’s website. If a flight is cancelled, its airport bus does not operate. If your flight is delayed, confirm the connection with the operator.

Arriving by bus and train
The nearest railway station is in Rovaniemi. From there, you can continue by coach via Sodankylä to Saariselkä. For current connections, fares and coach tickets, visit Matkahuolto. For train tickets, visit VR.
Indicative price estimates are €50–60 per person one way for the Rovaniemi–Saariselkä coach, €60–100 per person one way for a Helsinki–Rovaniemi train ticket, and €50–300 one way for a sleeper cabin. Fares depend on travel dates, availability and when you book; check the final price with the ticket provider.
